The skin is one big organ that interacts with the environment. And we should be aware of this when applying external substances to the skin.
That is why we develop and extract our raw materials and complexes in such a way that the biologically active substances are not degraded. And to preserve as much activity of the substances as possible, so that they are of the best possible quality.
In conventional extractions, less safe solvents such as hexane, dichloromethane or modified high carbon organic solvents are used. These are then removed back from the extracts through a complex purification process, this is not the route we wanted to take so that we could be as consistent as possible with sustainability and the natural purity of the substances and complexes. That is why we only use pharmaceutical grade ethanol in our extractions, which is reused for further extraction after vacuum evaporation and regeneration.
The extraction method chosen is another major factor in the extraction process. Because of our experience and expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, we are familiar with all conventional and experimental extraction methods. Therefore, for maximum preservation of the biological activity of the extract and to reduce the effect of temperature during extraction, we have stuck to ultrasonic extraction. Where we are developing our research and trying to extract new plant representatives that are not extracted conventionally due to the complexity of purification, thermolabile substances, etc..
Ultrasonic extraction allows us to extract small amounts of content for a batch, or plant representatives that are required by different companies for their research or production. It is gentle for plant metabolites such as alkaloids, llignans, polyphenolic compounds and others.
The menstruum is further purified by vacuum extraction under refrigeration. This method removes the remaining traces of, for example, waxes. Which, thanks to the gentle ultrasonic method, are only transferred to the extracts in trace quantities. By vacuum extraction, the extract is further technologically modified and undergoes technological modification to make it as accessible as possible after application on human skin.
The complex mixtures of active extracts are further standardized and biological parameters and activity are measured in the CENAB research centre (University of UJEP - CZ) in a research project.
